Traditional Babylon that claims that all of God’s laws are void, actually believe in more law than we do.
They believe that everything we do is a sin, especially men.
They think that it’s a sin to drink alcohol, to masturbate, to smoke a cigar or cigarette even if it’s only very rarely, for men to look at women, for men to go bare chested, for men to have long hair, to not observe Christmas, to not observe Easter, to not believe in a 3 headed god, to obey the biblical command to observe the biblical Sabbath, to obey the biblical command to observe the biblical holy days, etc.
So they are hypocrites when they claim that they don’t believe in law. They believe in lots of laws, but only their laws, not God’s laws.
Matthew 15:1-9 People worship God in vain.
They teach the commandments of mankind as if they are the doctrines of God.
The sin in verse 5 is that the religious people were using tithes and offerings and gifts to the temple as an excuse to neglect their family. Although tithes and offerings are required, it shouldn’t be used as an excuse to not help people, when in fact, the purpose of tithes is to help people, therefore those same religious leaders should had taken those funds that were given as tithes (that they had authority to use) and helped the people. It was the same problem in Isaiah 1.
Although context is the ritual washing of hands, and neglecting the financial needs of parents, the spiritual principal that Jesus was teaching, also applies to all other examples of man made commandments that they teach as doctrines.
Verse 4 must also be compared to Matthew 10:34-37 and Luke 14:26 to understand that there are exceptions to honoring parents. God must come first and his truth and his righteousness. The children of Hitler wouldn’t be required by God to respect Hitler.
Matthew 23:23 confirms that it was possible to do both, give the tithes + take care of people.
This verse shouldn’t be used to claim that tithes are food/agriculture only. The fact is that spices were very valuable in that day and time and were often used as payment for goods and services, thus being the same as money today. And Deuteronomy 14:23-25 confirms that tithes of food items could be sold to be turned into tithes of money.
The purpose and spiritual principal of tithes is what matters, not what form the tithes were in, as long as it’s the first 10% of your increase/profit.
Hebrews 7:1-17 Abraham paid tithes to King Melchizedek who is Jesus Christ.
Says absolutely nothing about the requirement of tithes being canceled or voided.
The change in the law mentioned here is only that the High Priest no longer had to be from the tribe of Levi.
It’s very specific.
Yet traditional religions tries to apply it to all of God’s law, except their own man made commandments which makes obedience to God a sin, and makes everything a sin except for what really is sin.
Romans 7:6-7 Is the Law sin? No!
:12 The Law is Good and Holy.
14 The Law is spiritual. (Not by the letter.)
16 Paul agreed with the law (approved of.)
25 Paul served/obeyed the law of God.
Romans 6:1 Shall we sin (break God’s laws) so that grace may increase? No!
But yet that’s exactly what most churches teach! Hyper-grace!
What is sin? 1 John 3:4 It’s breaking God’s law! Absolute proof that some law still exists!
Romans 3:31 Do we then void the law through faith? May it never be! On the contrary, we establish the law (mixed with faith)!
Matthew 7:21-23 They work at breaking the law of God as if breaking God’s law makes them righteous, and that’s exactly what they think, and teach!
Matthew 5:17-21, 27, 32 Jesus himself said that He didn’t come to destroy/void his own laws (of the 10 Commandments.) The context of this chapter is very clearly the 10 Commandments, therefore He wasn’t talking about circumcision, unclean meats, and animal sacrifices.
Cults like to use this verse, and also the verse that God doesn’t change, to try to claim that circumcision, and unclean meats laws are still required. Yet those are not what Jesus was talking about in this chapter, and we have plenty of bible verses that undoubtedly prove that those specific Old Covenant ritual laws were done away, voided.
The entire book of Galatians teaches that circumcision is voided.
Verses throughout Romans teach that animal sacrifices and circumcision are done away.
Acts 10 is very strongly clear that Jesus cleansed the meats.
So if we were to just only read the entire bible and believe it, instead of the teachings of humans, then we would know and understand and believe the truth.
In addition to the 10 Commandments, we know that tithes still exist, Hebrews 7 and the spirit of such law makes that very evident.
And Malachi 3 teaches the requirement of tithes in the last days, end time.
And all of the biblical holy days are still intact as we see that the apostles and first century church continued to observe the biblical holy days.
And there are prophecies in the bible (Zechariah 14, Isaiah, etc.) of the requirement to observe the biblical holy days after Jesus returns.
And we still have the weekly Sabbath in Hebrews 4:9.
So again, if we were to just only read the entire bible and believe it, instead of the teachings of humans, then we would know what the truth is, and understand and believe the truth.
The truth is simple.
It’s traditional religion that is confusing. That’s why Revelation 18:4 calls it “Babylon” which means “confusion”.
