First, a review of all of the holy days, then we’ll become more focused on the holy days of the 7th month as we get toward the last part of the sermon.
Romans 14 Wrong traditional interpretation of this chapter very foolishly claims that it teaches that we can just choose any day we want to observe and that no day is commanded. Yet this chapter never mentions any Sabbaths, feast days or holy days. Instead, it repeatedly uses words related to food and drink and fasting. Therefore it’s very clearly talking about man made Jewish days of fasting for the temple and other historical events. Has absolutely nothing to do with God’s commanded holy days.
Colossians 2:13-18 Wrong traditional interpretation claims that this chapter teaches that God’s commanded holy days are done away with (deleted). Yet it’s very clear that verse 16 tells the church that is observing God’s commanded holy days to not allow anyone to condemn or judge us for keeping them!
These verses actually teach the observance thereof!
:17 The holy days point to very important prophetic events still yet to occur.

Passover and days of Unleavened Bread:
1 Corinthians 11:25-26 In the same way He took the cup also after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes. (And even until Paradise, the end of time.)
False churches try to partake in communion without observing the date/day of Christ’s death, while making up and lying about the dates of his birth and resurrection and observing those false dates. Their teachings/doctrines are based upon lies.
1 Corinthians 5:8 The New Covenant preacher, Paul said about the Feast of Unleavened Bread: “Let us Keep the Feast”. That’s more than communion only or at any time of personal choice, but rather a very specific date.
“Let us Keep/celebrate the feast” = one Greek word = Greek Strong’s Concordance #1858. This Greek word is used in the New Testament only in this one verse. But it is used in the Greek Septuagint Old Testament, the bible that Jesus quoted from and used the most, 15 times! Including Exodus 23:14, 5:1, 12:14 and Leviticus 23:39, 41. It’s very clear that Paul was saying that we should keep the feast days! 1 Corinthians was written around 31 years after the crucifixion of Jesus! And yet Paul and the New Covenant church continued to preach the observance of the holy days!
We know that Pentecost was observed by the New Covenant church in Acts 2. It’s only logical that they continued to observe it every after year, as scripture shows that they did. Why would the modern New Covenant church NOT observe the historical church date of Pentecost and why wouldn’t we also observe the sacrifice of Jesus on Passover?! To think that the HOLY days are deleted is incredibly foolish and demonic!
We have more than one bible verse that declare that the holy days will continue AFTER Jesus returns!
Now onto the holy days of the 7th biblical month:
Leviticus 23: The Fiesta of Trumpets (7th New Moon): Symbolizes the coming prophetic event of the opening of the 7th Seal of the book of Revelation, i.e. the blowing of the 7 Trumpets will begin.
In ancient times, it was the one holy day that was the most difficult to know for sure when it would occur because it always occurs on the New Moon, which they didn’t have the ability to know for sure when the moon would begin to show the crescent. Therefore, was known as “the day that no one knows”, thus is a hint that Trumpets begins the final 7th month, the month of completion, the month that will include the catching up of the church for The Marriage Supper of The Lamb.
It’s a one day fiesta/feast, and it’s a “High Sabbath”, meaning no work/school, and is even more holy than the weekly Sabbath.
The Day of Atonement: The only complete fasting that is commanded to us in the bible.
For the Jews, it is considered as “The Holiest day of the year”.
24 hours beginning at sunset of the previous day before the Day of Atonement. Thus, ending at sunset on the Day of Atonement. Thus proving that days begin and end at sunrise, not sunset, otherwise it would be impossible to begin fasting at sunset of the previous day unless you are fasting for 2 days, which no person does for the Atonement observance.
It’s a day of afflicting the self/soul, humbling yourself and repentance.
Some people do the fasting without water, other people with water.
Personally, I continue to drink water during Atonement. We don’t have any exact specific command in the bible about how to fast for Atonement.
The Day of Atonement will be the day that the true saints is caught up into Heaven for The Marriage Supper. It’s the day that the Jews wear their white wedding clothes and has always been seen as the Day of Judgment. The Jews also say that it’s the day that we are “as the angels”, which reminds me of when Jesus said that in the Kingdom, we won’t be married to human beings any more, but rather we will be as the angels (spirit).
It’s the day of the blowing of the 7th Trumpet, the Last Trump (1 Corinthians 15:52) when the dead in Christ shall rise in the air to meet those that have survived the Great Tribulation.
Revelation 11:15-19 The Ark of the Covenant in The Temple was visible to human beings only on The Day of Atonement. No other day. And even then, to only the high priest.
-Only The Day of Atonement is the exact number of days required by the bible to be between that date and the date of the beginning of The Great Tribulation.
The Feast of Tabernacles: Symbolizes that our homes, houses, jobs, flesh, and everything about this life is only temporary. Therefore, we are commanded to dwell in temporary booths, that today we call tents, and travel to the location “where Jesus has set his authority”, i.e. regional church headquarters.
Many people instead go to motels or use campers/RVs, but that doesn’t really relay the full and true meaning of the festival, and therefore should be the very last option, not the first option. Another option to camping in a tent at a temporary location, only if that’s impossible, would be to use a blanket/cover or sheet or tarp on your porch or inside your house to represent a tent.
Zechariah 14 The Feast of Tabernacles commanded for both Israelites and Gentiles after Jesus returns, as it also is today. It was always a requirement for anyone who agreed to follow The God of Israel.
Notice also the same Greek word #1858 for keeping the feast days in verses 16, 18, 19. (Same as in 1 Corinthians 5:8)
The Last Great Day: Symbolizes Paradise, the New Heavens and New Earth, The New beginning of eternity.
Deuteronomy 14:22-29; 12:17; 26:12
The 2nd tithe isn’t paid to anyone, but rather is personally saved by the person all year long and used for travel, lodging, food and other related expenses to observing the Sabbaths. Therefore we are without excuse. It’s God’s way of providing the financial ability to observe his commandments including the annual pilgrimages 3 times a year. And not just choose any place that you want, but rather to go to the appointed place for your region, a place of gathering with people of the same faith. Even as Deuteronomy 16:5-6 teaches that they couldn’t just sacrifice the Passover in any city of their choosing, but only in the appointed places where Jesus had set his authority.
The 3rd tithe is paid to the church to help the poor and needy and to help the ministers/pastors. Because full time pastors shouldn’t be working a full time worldly job when they should be focused on the many responsibilities of the ministry. Deacons can work a normal job in the world, as it’s not a full time ministry job.
The 3rd tithe is paid only every 3rd year of every 7 year cycle. So the person would pay 3rd tithe in the 3rd year after true baptism, and again in the 6th year. Then in the 8th year begin the counting of 7 years again, therefore 3rd tithe again in the 10th year and 13th year after baptism.
Most years, you don’t pay a third tithe. And the 2nd tithe is mostly for your own needs. So it really isn’t that burdensome.
People try to claim that 3 tithes are very burdensome and therefore impossible. But 10% really isn’t very much, and the 2nd tithe is used by the person for their own needs, so it feels more like just 2 tithes, not 3. We are not giving away 30%, but rather only 20%. Many people pay more than that in government taxes. So 20% really isn’t not that much.
And God promises to bless the people who obey Him in all things, and He is very faithful to do so. I have witnessed that is very true!
And if a person ends up in severe financial need for rent, bills, food or medical, the church would help if possible, if they know about it, so the person could possibly receive back what they paid in tithes, perhaps more.
If everyone paid their tithes faithfully, the church would be able to take care of its members. It would work out well for everyone.
I also believe that the pastor has the right to waive tithes for specific people, although it’s not written in the bible. But it doesn’t make sense in some situations for a person to pay an internationally money transfer fee to send their tithes and then the pastor turn around and send the money back to the person and pay another transfer fee to return the same money because the person needs it.
This doesn’t automatically mean that poor people shouldn’t pay tithes. But rather that there are some special situations that the pastor can consider and make proper decisions. But a poor person should consider the verse where the widow paid the smallest coin, and the verse where a woman was instructed to give her very last amount of food to the prophet. We can’t completely ignore those verses. Every situation is considered on its own merits.
You need to go ahead now/soon and inform your employer/school in advance (not at the last moment) that you and your family won’t be in attendance to work/school on the “High Sabbaths”. It’s not honorable or responsible or mature to wait until the last minute to tell them. Employers need time to plan and schedule producibility around your absence.
You are not asking if you could possibly have time off. Instead, you are notifying them that you won’t be able to work these days because of religious holy days, which in most nations are required to be granted.
Even if not required by law to be granted, if you are a good employee, a good worker and dependable, then almost any boss/employer will have no problem at accommodating your needs.
In my lifetime experience of knowing about the holy days, I’ve never seen anyone be fired or lose a job over the holy days. Employers/bosses are generally very understanding for accommodating God’s people, because God’s people have God’s favor and blessing.
